Maori Language Week is a week where New Zealanders both here and overseas are encouraged to recognise and practice the Maori language – Te Reo.
This year Maori Language Week runs from 21 - 27 July, with the theme 'Te Kupu o te Wiki' or 'Word of the Week'. Under this theme, a new Māori word will be highlighted each week for fifty weeks.
Kupu = Word.
The first kupu is āpōpō. Do you know what that means? I'll give you a hint, it's the time after today...
You can find all kupu here.
Ka rite! - Get ready for some Te Reo activities next week. Our afternoons will be spent celebration Māori Language Week from 1:45pm to 2:45pm, Monday to Friday.

Tena Koe!
ReplyDeleteI aroha maori language week because maori is aotearoa's second language. Every language is a taonga to all the tamariki on the planet!
Ka pai!
