My Cheeky, Beautiful Niece.

I’m so eager to get home and call Leilah. I cannot believe it’s her 2nd birthday. She is growing up so fast. Sometimes it’s so hard to live so far away, I miss her so much. Will she even remember me? Does she know i’m her aunty?

Well, time will tell. I’m so thrilled, as the phone is ringing in my hand. I’m waiting patiently for her to answer and that’s a big ask because I’m not very patient. Finally, a beautiful scream down the phone, “HELLO AUNTY!”. Yay, I think to myself, she remembers me!

“Hi beautiful girl”, I reply back to my gorgeous niece. “Happy Birthday”, I add. Leilah looks down at the floor, suddenly bored of me. Oh no I think to myself!

“Leilah”, her mum calls out,

“Say thank you aunty for the present”. Leilah looks away. Uhhh hoo.

Suddenly, “If you don’t say thank you, I’m going to pop your balloons”, threatens her mum. She looks at me in the camera, with a twinkle in her eye. She’s looking very cheeky. I expect her to say thank you, and then surprisingly she yells out, “YOU HAVE A BOOGER ON YOUR NOSE!!!!”
