End of Week 1

We've had an amazing first week to 2014.
Thank you to everyone who came to our assembly today :) Our class laptop had a wee meltdown and the Ruma Iwa treasures kept their cool and put the whole thing together again! Well done team!

It's been a fabulous week of getting to know one another, playing guess who, sharing our taongas and lots of cooperative games.

We've started to use a tool called Class Dojo to track our behaviour. Sometimes we excel in some behaviours, but it's also great to see what we need to work on as a team.

We've had some great discussions about the internet and how to keep safe using devices.
Our ICT agreements will be ready to come home next week. Our job is to share these with our families.
We've spent time setting up our classrooms and thinking about what kind of place we want to work in and how we want to treat each other and feel when we are at school.

Next week, we will be staring our measurement unit. How much do you know about lengths, area, perimeters, widths and height?
How many different measurement units can you think of?

We will also be thinking about animal classification. What are different ways you classify animals by their features?

I hope you all have a great weekend.
Enjoy looking through some of our classroom pictures.
