Nikau Syndicate's camp was amazing! From the second the cardboard challenge started it was great!
These are the activities we participated in:
- The Cardboard Challenge
- Skit Planning
- Arriving back at school at 6
- Making our beds
- Student performing their groups skits
- The Amazing Race
- The walk down to Percy's Reserve
- The hike in the bush back up the hill
- And chilling out at the very end!
Cardboard Challenge:
When it was 9.00 am Thursday morning lots of Cardboard Challenge participants wondered over to the school hall. Cardboard was everywhere and we all sat where we were going to create our master pieces. we were all talking excitedly as the organisers were saying their making day speech. We had already planned our creations so we were ready to go. The countdown started, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, START THE CARDBOARD CHALLENGE! Everyone rushed over to the spare cardboard boxes and in a flash of 5 seconds, the pile was empty. One of the other team members went to get tape and we were away! An hour and a half later it was morning tea. We had a 20 minute break and then we could carry on with our creations for a further 15 minutes. My group just had to put some more tape on and then we were going to be done.
Skit evening and arriving back at school:
We were all so exciting to be back at school ready for camp. Our rooms were set up and everyone was talking and talking and talking. It was AWESOME! Once everybody had arrived we went over to the hall to start the skit evening. The skits took longer than planned, but their was a different variety of skits. Plays, Dances, Jokes and Hilarious things. We all brought in different things, (baking, fruit etc) and they were going to help us have some supper and morning tea for the next day. The skits were amazing and we are all naturals.
The Amazing Race:
The Amazing Race was awesome! We all did so well we really do deserve a huge pat on the back. We found some challenges hard and the teachers challenged us. Congratulations to all of the teams that worked as a team and were amazing and also a huge round of applause to the teams that finished all of the activities. Some of the activities were really hard and disgusting. Some challenges involved the whole team. Some challenges needed sports equipment and some challenges needed your knowledge.
Percy's Reserve:
Percy's Reserve had beautiful scenery. The bushes were swaying in the breeze and the steps through the bush were steep. We listened to the birds tweeting and ducks quacking. We explored the cave, the pond and also we played soccer (football) on the grass. After exploring for about 20 minutes we had a yummy sausage sizzle. As well as the sausage sizzle we had oranges, pineapple and chippies. We had to eat quickly and some people had 2nd's, 3rd's and 4th's! We were all really hungry. We walked all the way up through the bush and we passed the beautiful waterfall. We hiked on full stomachs and eventually we came out of the bush next to the scout hall and the tennis courts.
