Energy Experiments.

Today we did some experiments to learn about heat, energy, sound and light. We had to go to the station, do the experiment and write up what we had learnt. 

We are learning about: Warm air
We learnt:
- Warm air rises
- Warm air expands because the molecules speed up.

We are learning about: Energy Transfer
We learnt:
- Energy can be transferred.
ENERGY IS NEVER LOST!

We are learning about: Light
We learnt:
- Light can bend (refracts)
- Light + water = rainbow
- When light travels through water it can change direction! This makes some things in water look like they have been bent!

We are learning about: Sound 
We learnt:
- Lower water in an glass = Higher pitch
- Higher water in the glass = deeper pitch
- Less space for air molecules to move, the clearer the sound. 

What happened? Small vibrations are made when you hit the glass.
