Our 8 amazing artists have been spending every Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime on the Hutt City Council Mural.
The Murals from children all around the Hutt will be erected around the Hutt City Council offices in Laings Road which will
become a major construction site as the buildings undergo seismic strengthening and
refurbishment in April. The project is expected to take around two years and the artwork will
enhance the area and add interest while the work takes place.
We started to paint today, so it took us 4 sessions to plan and draft.
You can pop into the Room 11 porch to check out our progress. Our Mural is all about "What we love about the Hutt". We can't wait to show you the finished product, but don't want to give too much away..it is a competition :)
I'm looking forward to seeing it all finished. How cool to be able to make a piece of art that the whole of the city will be able to see! I hope we'll get to see a photo of the masterpiece with its creators when it's in situ.

Well done mural artists! I can't wait to hear which school has won and and I can't wait to see what the mural art looks like. I hope it has streams, forest and birds. Does it have any of these?
