Doing maths problems with words is a lot harder than solving maths problems with just numbers. So, we do two a week to practice! These are apart of our homework programme. These are handed out on a Monday (sometimes a Tuesday if Miss Matich is sleepy, or we have too much work on a Monday) and come back the following Monday. An awesome way to solve the problems is working together as a family and asking our parents to solve them with us. I wonder who is smarter than their parents? Maths problems are a great homework challenge.

Milly figured out that every 6th lantern would be yellow. Therefore, because 6x6 equal 36, the 36th lantern would be yellow, so the 40th would be blue!!
Zach figured out that 7 and 2 make 9, 6 and 3 make 9 and 5 and 4 make 9. Therefore if the middle number is 1, the other numbers make 10 together!
That is a pretty tricky problem. Can someone please post the answer and let me know how they worked it out. Thanks.
