This week we had a competition about Similes and Metaphors. We had to write our best similes and metaphors that will go through in stages by the class individually voting on a Google Form. Over the week we have been working on these on a google presentation. After we submitted our metaphors and similes, Miss Matich printed them off and put them on display in class. The metaphors and similes were in groups and in order for them to get to the next round, they have to have the most votes. The metaphors and similes go on until the third round.
Congratulations to the final 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters and teacher's choice:
Sam, Grace, Al, Zena, Soph C, Ash, Prishanti.
Overall we think we were all winners because we have all learnt to write similes and metaphors. Learning wins at the end of the day :)

Fantastic. You will still be learning about how to use similes and metaphors in Y13. You are all as clever as a dictionary-calculator-computer robot.
ReplyDeleteI loved the competition!
ReplyDeleteSimiles are MUCH easier to write than Metaphors, I found that I was better at metaphors than similes. Even if I found it harder!
This was an awesome competition! I learnt a lot from it.
